My son is here! - Bay Area I will be an AWESOME father Photography!

I have him in my arms right now... There's a story that goes with these but I only have one hand!  LOL!

Okay, he's actually out of my hands now.  But I miss him and love him, and he needs thin-tipped bottle nipples (what the heck are those?  And why did the fine folks at Good Samaritan let me take this child home?!?!?  I'm not qualified!!!!!!), so I'll give you the gist of it.

7/24

12:00am - Jehn wakes me up.  "I think my water broke."  Count contractions.
1:45am - Call doctor.  "Please come in."
2:30am - Arrive at Good Sam.  Get checked in. Get IV, epidural, etc.
5:00am - Doze off.  Take nap for 30 minutes.
6:00am - Start pushing
7:00am - Heart rate gets scary.  Flip Jehn over.  Everything is okay.
7:30am - Heart rate gets scary again.  Move Jehn to OR for emergency C-section.
7:45am - Heart stabilizes again.  Keep Jehn in OR in case of necessary C-section.
8:00am - Start pushing for natural birth.
9:34am - My son, Royce Michael Buchanan, comes into the earth.  I cry.  Jehn cries.  We cry a lot.  Royce cries.
11:00am - move to recovery room watch my son.

My wife was beautiful.  Didn't cry until Royce was born.  Was an absolute champ.  And to our family and friends who have offered more support, cheerleading, and love and prayer than we ever could have dreamed of.  Thank you.  And we love you.

Welcome our new son, Royce Michael Buchanan - D.O.B. 7/24/2011 @ 0934 hrs.

Steph + Cam are married! (full post) - Bay Area Holy Matrimony Photography

What can be said about Stephanie?  She's like a sister to my wife.  Sure they're cousins, but they've been there for each other through thick and thin, from NorCal to SoCal.  Steph and her sister Anna were in mine and Jehn's wedding 3 years ago, and Jehn and I felt so blessed to be such a big part (Jehn as a bridesmaid and me as the photographer) to Ms. "Corn and Tacos" becoming Mrs. Stephanie Chase.

After getting ready at the beautiful Tollhouse Inn in Los Gatos, Stephanie, who looked absolutely perfect, her ladies and I all headed to Almaden so that Cameron, her hubby to be, could see her for the very last time as his fiance'.  And it was truly epic.  That little bridge in Almaden Lake Park was the perfect setting.  We had the most gorgeous weather, amazing light, and beautiful people (especially my wife! *Sorry... shameless plug*).  Then off we rushed to Boulder Ridge Gold Club to prepare for the ceremony.

The day was gorgeous, vows were said that truly came straight from Cameron and Stephanie's hearts, and then the party began!

Steph... cuz... we love you.  And Cameron, welcome to the family, man, although you've definitely been part of this big huge Buchanan/Krug/Tornincasa/Chase mushed up family for a long time now.  I cannot wait to see what the future holds for you both!  We love you guys!

Thanks to Danny Gaines and Matthew Gillooley for being not assistants but fellow photographers on this huge event.  They are truly my equals and I can't tell you how much I value your expertise and skills.  Alison Kirkpatrick, you did a bang up job on the hair and styling!

God's Creation - Bay Area God's Creation Photography

The official God's Creation photographer?  You'd expect me to say, "no way."  But you'd be wrong.  I am.  In fact, every single moment I pick up my camera and the buttons start getting pressed and things start whirling and whizzing, I'm capturing God's creation.  Cliche' as a flower may be, or the love between a husband and wife, or parents and their baby, or my dog playing in the backyard, or... the moon.  How amazing is the moon?

Well, here's how amazing.  I know we all see what we want to see, but when I see things like this, or my pregnant wife, or my friend Melissa's new baby boy, I see God.  I see love.

...but again, that's just me.

I love this picture! - Bay Area Infant and Child Photography

With the birth of my son inching closer everyday, I was going back through some of the images I've been honored to capture of friends and family with their little ones.  I cannot wait to hold my son in my arms and meet his face!

This is Yuri.  This is her God son.  And they are amazing.

Boys will be boys - Bay Area Family Photography

Oh boy.  In 2 weeks and 2 days, Jehn is due.  And our son, hopefully on schedule and taking after his mother's side of the family (the punctual side), will arrive when the doctor's say.  And today, I got a small taste of what having a son... times 3... will be like.  And I'm so stoked about it.

Kandice I met through my insurance company, and she's awesome.  Shameless plug, but if you need insurance, ask me for her information.  She's awesome.

So, the Lynch/Cox family gathered for a little while in hot-hot Vasona Park in Los Gatos today, and allowed me to capture a few moments of their lives together, and I couldn't be more honored.  They remind me of my own family:  1 part humor, 1 part hilarity, 1 part bickering (out of love of course), and a million parts love.  I drove away from the park smiling because I felt like I saw a family that was the way that God designed a family to be.

Enjoy!
