Bagatelos Wedding

Well, here you have it: The good results of my first wedding. Not terribly happy, but not displeased either. Most shots are somewhat traditional as I was working secondary to another photographer who seemed to have a love of the traditional.

Enjoy.

My new digi... errr... FILM CAMERA!?!?!?

So, it happened. My love of photography took on a life of its own, without stopping or slowing down for any speed bump that I may have come across. My Grandmother, "Grammy" as we call her, offered me her old Minolta and I gladly accepted.

It is weird that I just bought 2 new 8gb Ultra CF cards for my D300 that will get me approx. 600 Raw photos, but that all I can think of doing is going out and buying film to plop into this bad boy and to rattle off a bunch of shots, not really knowing WHAT I'm doing?

Not doing much lately, to be honest. The wife and I are purchasing our first home, and things couldn't be running more smoothly.

But I did get outside in the beautiful 70 degree weather yesterday on my lunch break to take a few photos of Orly. He's one of my best subjects.

Getting out there... Getting experience.

It's not easy to step out of my comfort zone... tell people what to do... tell them what will look good even if they disagree.

But what I love about photography is that I can do what I want. Sometimes, I can completely do what I want; inanimate objects, animals, scenic shots, etc. But people have their own ideas, and they move. A LOT. So I'm struggling with that, but at the same time, I love it. I really prefer to be the wallflower shooter, and not get into the mix too much. And unfortunately, that's just not an option for me anymore. I'm having to step out of my comfort zone a lot, and that's portrayed in the photoshoot I did with Isaac in his gym, and my sister and my friend Luke last weekend.

BUT, occasionally I get to drop back to my wallflower-y roots and take some pictures while in an audience, like last Friday. The wife and I went to see my friend Peter's band, Futuredog, and had a good ol' time watching some hippies be oblivious to other people and almost trample me while flailing their arms about.

But, I promised Peter some photos, so here they are. The lighting on the first band was good. For some reason, once Peter's band got up the lighting went downhill fast and Peter kept his hat on. Meh.

Two in a row? Peas in a pod?

Second time shooting, and second photo shoot. Wow. I'm gettin' busy! Well, busy for free. :-)

But if I'm going to do anything for free, I'd just assume do it for friends and family. And yes, when I shot Isaac in his gym I took 150 shots, and liked a few of them. And when I shot my sister and her boyfriend, one of my good friends Luke, I liked quite a few of them. But I'm still not feeling ready to venture into the paid realm of photography... yet.

Anyway, here's a bunch that I liked that I thought came out kinda' cute. My sister even told me that she liked most of the ones I took which she said, and I quite, "is very rare".

On a fully related note - I love my family, and I love my friends.

Anyway, here they are:
